Every time I try a new smoothie, I say to myself, "This is my new favorite!" And this nutrient packed smoothie is no exception. Kale, homemade almond milk, blueberries, and the magnificent Acaí powder are the standouts here. You will also find the infamous chia seeds and hemp seeds sprinkled throughout.
There's no denying this is a glass full of superfood nutrition that can be enjoyed just about any time of day. Don't let the kale scare you off. You won't even know it's there. But fortunately, your body will notice and reap all those nutritional benefits. I think my favorite smoothies always include some sort of green. Whether it be spinach or kale, it's all good. You can easily swap the kale out for spinach if that's your preference.
3/4 cup homemade almond milk (or milk of choice)
1 cup organic kale, stems removed
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup organic frozen organic blueberries
1 Tbs Acaí powder
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp chia seeds
1 Tbs. raw hemp seeds
Additional ice cubes for a thicker consistency
Optional: 1 Tbs maple syrup if you like a sweeter taste. I thought it was delicious without.
1. Place all ingredients in your high speed blender and blend until smooth. You may need additional ice cubes depending on how thick you like your smoothie. Start blending without ice first and add as needed.
2. Pour in a glass and enjoy immediately. Makes 1 serving.
