Have you noticed how many condiments on store shelves are loaded with ingredients that you can't even pronounce? As a rule of thumb, if you can't pronounce it or don't know what it is, don't buy it. It is more than likely something that has no place in your body. There are a few good condiment options to buy, but there are even more options to make yourself and they are quite simple. This is one of those recipes. This Honey Dijon recipe can be used as a dip or a dressings. It has a vibrant flavor and is anything but boring.
Two of the main ingredients are honey and Dijon mustard. I recommend using a raw, organic honey and look at the nutritional information on your Dijon mustard label to make sure the ingredients are acceptable for you. Other than that, this is extremely simple to make. I throw all the ingredients into my Vitamix and in a matter of minutes, you will have a delicious dressing. It keeps in the refrigerator for about a week. The recipe made about 3/4 cup so if you need more then that, double the recipe.
1/4 cup organic Dijon mustard
1/4 cup raw honey
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
2 Tbs water
In a high speed blender, combine all ingredients and blend until you reach a smooth consistency. You can add more water if you want it thinner. You can add more honey or mustard if you feel it needs more tang or sweetness. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for about a week in the refrigerator.
