By now you probably figured out that I'm hooked on black sesame. Whether it be the actual seeds or the paste, black sesames have a dynamite flavor! If you caught a glimpse of my black sesame smoothie bowl or black sesame ice cream, then you know a little bit about this nutrient rich seed.
Speaking of nutrient rich seeds, the chia seed just so happens to fall into that same category. Of course that makes a perfect match for creating a black sesame chia pudding recipe. To make it even better, I combined the black sesame chia pudding with my new fig chia jam recipe. Holy moly! Seeds seeds everywhere! But let me just say, this combination is out of this world delicious. Topping the pudding with some fresh figs adds a nice touch.
Of course the black sesame chia pudding is fantastic on its own. Or, create a different flavor jam according to what is in season. If you check out my fig chia jam post, you will read about how to make other flavors of chia jam. It's super easy! 1. Place the milk, black sesame paste, and maple syrup in your blender and blend until thoroughly mixed.
2. Place about 3 Tbs of chia seeds into the bottom of a jar. If you prefer a thick chia pudding, use 4 Tbs. Pour the milk mixture into the jar with the chia seeds. Stir well. Let it sit for about 5 minutes and stir again. Repeat once more. Put a lid on the jar and place it in your refrigerator for a few hours or overnight so the pudding thickens up.
3. To assemble your pudding, layer the chia pudding with the fig jam. Garnish with some black sesame seeds and sliced figs. Serves 2.
